RISE Earth Initiative is a grassroots organization that was born in response to a stark reality: Indigenous Peoples are often at the forefront of environmental degradation and social injustice, yet our voices are frequently silenced or ignored. Our ancestral lands, water, ways of life, cultural traditions for our sustenance, sustainable environmental practices, and languages have been impacted over centuries.

RISE brings together a committed group of individuals from diverse backgrounds, united by a shared passion for protecting the rights of our communities, Indigenous Peoples and safeguarding the Earth. Our organization stems from a deep reverence for the wisdom of our own Indigenous cultures and a profound concern for the environmental challenges facing our planet.

A group of us came together thinking about how we, as Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiians) might be able to protect the rights of our communities through everyday, “regular” community action, to preserve our traditions, and raise awareness about pressing issues impacting our peoples and the Earth. We are committed to empowering our own community and communities worldwide through impact-driven projects including compelling media and educational campaigns geared at addressing systemic injustices, environmental degradation, and stewarding Earth's precious land and waters from Mauka (mountains) to Makai (oceans) to be protected for future generations and build a more just and sustainable world for all.

Community education and empowerment program for people to advocate and work towards social justice and sustainability. Bridging the knowledge gap from fishponds to courtrooms.

RISE impact media plays a crucial role in sharing stories that drive social change and inspire action. Impact media raises awareness, advocates for justice, and promotes an understanding of Indigenous issues globally.

R3S projects aim to reclaim, restore and renew lands, water, and work to sustain our communities at home and around the world.

HoÊ»ohuli Ana I Ke Kai: By prioritizing healing and education that restores connection to the Earth, we are working to break the cycle of incarceration and recidivism in Hawai‘i.
