REGULAR ACTION
Community education and empowerment program for people to advocate and work towards social justice and sustainability. Bridging the knowledge gap from fishponds to courtrooms.

Regular Action is a program dedicated to empowering Indigenous communities to learn how to advocate for social justice and sustainability, while also learning how to navigate legal systems and document their struggles against government and corporate encroachment on ancestral lands and waters in the fight for self-determination. We partner with other organizations, educators, and legal nonprofits to build capacity and level the playing field of knowledge in asserting our rights in the face of historical injustices and ongoing marginalization.

A note about our name: "Regular Action" was inspired by a community meeting where one of our founders was attending a conference focused on legal challenges to protecting ancestral lands and water. During the lunch break, a Kanaka uncle asked whether the founder was also a lawyer. When he said "no," uncle's response was, "oh you're like me, regular action." This program is dedicated to our uncles, aunties, brothers, sisters, and future generations who are "regular action" - people from different walks of life united by the knowledge that we each have a role to play in the struggle towards justice.
